‘Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen’ is Officially Wrapped

In a bit of news that should excite our very own Neil Miller and several million children of the 80s, Michael “Awesome!” Bay and company have caught their last frames as of last week. Next stop, the editing room. Here’s where I make a bad joke about Michael turning from a Directing Bay into an Editing Bay.

According to a quick note on Bay’s website, the principle photography is done, an incredible feat considering the amount of time it took to create the first film. And they only lost a few fingers and Jonah Hill in the process! Not bad.

It looks like Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is on track for its June 26th 2009 release date. Or, as it should be known from then on, National Explosion Day.

Happy National Explosion Day, everyone!

What do you think? Are you still hyped for Transformers 2?

First Official Twilight Cast Image Released

http://www.filmschoolrejects.com/news/first-official-twilight-cast-image-released.php

When we first started covering the adaptation of Stephenie Meyer’s sensational novel, Twilight, less than a week ago, we definitely did not realize how much interest it was going to generate. We also didn’t realise exactly how many articles we gonna crop up as soon as we started monitoring it! We’re talking Iron Man, Dark Knight, Speed Racer levels of coverage, with new set visits, interviews and general tidbits hitting the wires every other day. We ourselves have only managed to do 5 articles about the saga since the 28th of April (not including this one). ONLY 5. It’s only the second of May! One article a day is not anything to sneeze at!

So, Twilighters, thanks to the guys over at Cinematical, prepare to be spoiled because here’s another one to add to your collection and a great way to start your day. Just for you (and all the other FSR readers out there, of course) we have the first official image of Twilight’s core cast, looking smoldering and sexy, love struck and torn, plus lots of other great stuff. According to Cinematical, although other photos have been floating around the net for a while now, this is official, released from Summit Entertainment, the production company behind Twilight. For those of you who aren’t intimately familiar with the casting or the descriptions of the main characters, from left to right are:

Ashley Greene as Alice Cullen; Kellan Lutz as Emmett Cullen; Kristen Stewart as Bella Swan; Robert Pattinson as uber-hot vampire Edward Cullen; Nikki Reed as Rosalie Hale; and Jackson Rathbone as Jasper Hale. I have to say, there’s certainly a lot of sparks flying from Bella to Edward, and doesn’t Edward look oh so hungry for something? The only problem is, what is it he’s hungering for?

Twilight hits US screens on December 12th.

Film Idea 1

*working titles*

1. The Macabre Road of Inebriation

2. Land of Macabre

3. Macabre Cove

4. Macabre Dreams

*Simple Plot- This is the story of a student who is trying to find his place in the world while fighting his inner demons of thinking he is a failure, a family that doesn’t listen to him and brow beats him all the time, making bad grades, losing his scholarship, the threat of not being able to finish college, and constant thoughts of suicide. With all of this going on, he discovers a gift in music, art, and literature. It’s basically a story concerning a college student with exceptional genius which he does not realize he has initially until he meets someone who changes his outlook on life, and in the process, he discovers the personal happiness which he has been searching for all his life…and that encompasses changing the world and making it a better place than before. A sort of “Richard Corey” meets Edgar Allan Poe’s life and literature with a bit of “Donnie Darko.”

Computer in Tennis Shoes

Some say failure is a self evaluated aspect of critiquing oneself, but are we really aware of it until someone or something points out to us? Take for instance an exam in school. Though you take notes and listen in class, your success or failure is dictated by the score or grade you received on your examination. To understand and comprehend the material is a completely different concept from what these “tests” call upon you to present. These “tests” want you to be able to regurgitate the specific knowledge given at a moment’s time.

If we look at life, this regurgitation is not completely true. We summon up ALL the knowledge needed when we are in a situations that make this knowledge a necessity, not just for kicks or to see how “smart” we are. We take the knowledge given and creatively compose new knowledge in order to cope with or solve the situation at hand. Now, if we go even further within the subject of intelligent evaluation, we will discover something interesting. Being considered “smart” within the school system is not being intelligent so much, but in how well our memory bank is good at disposing stratified information given by institutions. The criterion for which the system measures their so called definition of “intelligence” is based upon how inanimate and systemically you can spew out information that has been given to you by them. These administered exams want to see if you can take in information and shoot it out during a specific time and place…like a computer.

A conventional computer does not think or create or imagine (we are referring to conventional computers without artificial intelligence software), but it simply displays the information demanded by a superior through the command of a question or key wording. This is not the development…this is not innovation. This is an abomination towards the true concept of the “American Dream,” am I right?

Does this display something about what our society has become? Are there other forms of this…de-evolutionary process of the younger generations or is this just a fluke or glitch within society’s programming? Is the why America students, according to social evaluation, are not as “intelligent” as their Eastern counterparts, or shall I say competitors, who work upon the system of having a goal set and allowing them to discover their person method in which they find the path to reaching that goal? Computers…they’re already one of the most regnant and widespread devices on the planet, so would it be too far of a stretch that modern American culture has idolized the power of the computer to sort of gain that same ability like a small sibling does an older brother…hmmm…quite the paradox, right?

My New and Original Piece of Literature coming soon

The reason I wrote “A Beautiful Mind: Rivers of Consciousness” is to spark thought and invoke emotion within the mind of all who read this artwork. I call it artwork, because it is my portrait to you. It is not a novel or a guide. It is neither a lesson nor the conventional journal. I am not teaching you with this. You can only teach yourself by reading these words and using them as a catalyst to spark a reaction that propels you out of a society that “de-geniuses” us all. I am just opening your mind to what you most likely already know, but have not delved deeper within the subjects or have not been open or honestly expressive towards such thoughts. You have enough people in your everyday life trying to guide and tell you what you should feel, how you should think, and other preposterous acts of evaluating your life. I am merely planting the seed of cerebration. I hope you enjoy the ride…
